  Leveraging Intellectual Property

Frequently, the market capitalization of a company exceeds by many times the book value of the company. The difference is the market's value assessment of a company's intangible assets: branding, patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets.

Recently the Brookings Institution reported, "Wealth and growth in today's economy are primarily driven by intangible (intellectual) assets. Abnormal profits, dominant competitive positions, and sometimes even temporary monopolies are achieved by the sound deployment of intangibles, along with other types of assets."

The Beckett team approaches intellectual property via three disciplines: legal, economic, and organizational. Beckett Intellectual Property experts can guide, consult, identify, value, manage, license, or help you set up your own internal IP department.
