  Richard Sigler

Brief Bio:
Richard Sigler has dealt with intellectual property issues throughout most of his professional career in the industry that has, arguably, the longest and the richest tradition of deference paid to intellectual property-entertainment.

In private practice, he has represented Mattel, Fisher-Price, KISS, Marvel Comics, HBO, MTM, among others.

Personal Statement:
"In my many trips through various intellectual property industries, I am always surprised at how lax creation and protection of intellectual property is in industries where such property is the primary asset. There tends to be an attitude that if it does not exist on a pallet somewhere, it cannot be "property." Increasingly in this service economy we are developing, intellectual property will be the primary form of property for businesses. In conducting due diligence, many companies have not taken care of their ownership of intellectual property, have not solidified it enough to occupy their balance sheets, and have not taken the proper steps to protect their intellectual property. Beckett and Beckett has the team that can help you accomplish these goals in your company."
