John Whitworth
Brief Bio:
John Whitworth brings extensive domestic and global experience in finance and general management to Beckett Advisors. Prior to his arrival at Beckett in early 2006, John established a solid record of developing and implementing financial and business initiatives in start-up, new acquisitions, closures and stable environments both in OEM and wholesale distribution markets. His employers have included H.J. Heinz, Unitech, Siebe and Invensys PLC.
During his thirty-year career, John has been a member of the Corporate and Executive Management Team of Unitech, a global manufacturer of power supplies, which during his tenure grew from $30MM to $600MM. Recently, as a Senior Finance Director, in a $3B world-wide US division of Invensys PLC, John was responsible for reinvigorating the finance function, and he led the division's many pricing initiatives.
Today, John is spearheading Beckett's new Pricing Discipline practice "Precision Pricing." Combining his extensive understanding of finance with senior management experience, John has helped companies substantially increase profits with his proactive value approach to pricing. One US manufacturer was able to double its profitability from $2MM to $4MM.
Personal Statement:
"For over 28 years, I have thoroughly enjoyed a business career that has straddled the Atlantic. From selling a premium product to the world's best racing sailors, starting a US distribution company selling connectors to the OEM markets, being a member of an executive management team, and running the treasury operation of two UK-based public companies, I've seen how cash is the lifeblood of business.
As such, I am an absolute believer that our Precision Pricing discipline makes a great contribution to the health and vitality of our clients' operations by helping senior management uncover additional profits. A 1% increase in revenues will increase your operating profits by at least 8%, and I enjoy tracking down that 1%!"
